    豐田國小校長方穎豐長年在偏鄉推動少棒，美國小聯盟匹茲堡海盜隊現役捕手張進德是他得意門生；另張進德的三弟張育成則是美國小聯盟印第安隊球員，二弟張進龍也在中職富邦悍將隊二軍奮戰，3名兄弟均因幼時住在山區缺乏外界刺激，領有學習障礙手冊。另一度誤入迷途的中輟老么張偉聖，現在也是高農的棒球好手。

    10年前台東縣東河鄉偏遠山區，5名來自弱勢家庭兄弟，經時任泰源國小校長方穎豐栽培，被判定有學習障礙的老大張進德、老三張育成現均是美國職棒小聯盟球員，老二張進龍是中職隊員，讀高中的老么張偉聖也是棒球好手，打棒球逆轉偏鄉孩子人生。

    方穎豐說，在泰源國小棒球隊時，張進德每天比其他隊員多練50顆球不喊苦，品性也很自律，6年小聯盟合約於明年6月期滿，很有機會進入大聯盟。
